About us We are Edwin and Jacqueline Claessens and we live in Espel. We have
here room to keep several dogs.
We bought our first dog in 1991. Our first Estrela came to us in
2005, the first Podengo in 2009. In 1998 we founded our kennel “van de
Hienderheuvel”. Our pets have a large influence on our lives. At this moment we are the
proud owners of two Căes da Serra da Estrela, four Podengo Portugűes Pequeno
and one Pyrenean Mountain Dog. This website gives you only information about
the Portugese breeds. All about the Bernese and Pyrenean litters we have
bred, can be found at our other website: www.hienderheuvelhistorie.nl or at “Our history”. Assuming our dogs are approved for breeding they are sporadically
mated and provide a litter of puppies. Generally speaking, this is about one
or two litters a year (in total). Our dogs are primarily pets and not owned
solely for breeding. We are financially independent from our dogs and would
like to keep it that way. Therefore we abide by the following code of
behavior: -
Breeding is always
(well) within the guidelines of breeding regulations for the recognised
pedigree society. This means that we have a number of show results and the
dogs will be screened for HD, ED and Patella Luxation. -
None of our pets
are dismissed or sold when they get older. -
No puppies are sold
to people who do not seem capable of looking after them. -
Our puppies stay in
our house, just like all our dogs. -
We place a lot of
importance on having well prepared owners for the dogs. Therefore, intended
dog owners are given detailed information. This includes documentation
concerning all aspects of the breed of dog and its rearing. -
Intended buyers are
always welcome for an orientation visit or to visit the litter and their
future pup. -
The sale of our
puppies is always accompanied by a sales contract and after about one year we
hold a reunion of the litter. |
